What is process?

Process is a common word, it is used in many fields.

Process is a concept widely used in the management role, in information technology up to automation processes and data processes.

A good definition of a process could be: The process is a series of actions that produce something or that allow to lead to a certain result.

In the fields of engineering the process can be thought of as a transformation, in fact a process transforms materials into other materials, information into other information or energy into other energy.

The concept of process is widely used in the SCADA context. All plants, or machines, can be well modeled by breaking them down into elementary processes. This allows to reduce complexity and to achieve very high levels of control and efficiency.

Dunning-Kruger effect in digitalization

  The Dunning-Kruger effect is a psychological phenomenon that describes the tendency of people with low skill in a given field to overestimate their abilities, while people competent in that field tend to underestimate their abilities. In digitization and I4.0 (Industry 4.0), the Dunning-Kruger effect can manifest itself in different forms.
